Weller Claywood Pattern Small Floral Jardiniere - Vintage 1908 - 1910 American Art Pottery - Rudolf Lorber Design - to Look Carved in Wood

This small Weller Claywood Jardiniere, designed by Rudolf Lorber, was made in 1908. The designs were intended to appear as woodcarvings. This vase is carved with tiny blossoms winding around the shoulder, and larger petaled blossoms in the center panels. There is a faint pinprick pattern of dots in the background. The glazed is in Weller's signature Claywood colors of sepia and brown. The arrangement of the colors creates a beautiful and simple feel. This very small piece would be lovely on a book shelf with other larger Claywood pieces. This piece was part of a large collection of Pottery amassed over a 50 year period of collecting.
