This little pastel green vase is made in the shape of a Lotus Blossom. It is pottery, likely made in Ohio during the 1930s or 40s. I have seen another vase, exactly like this one but it had an Impresssed USA Makers Mark which was often used by the McCoy Pottery Company in the same time period. Furthermore, the matte glaze green color is a glaze seen often on McCoy pieces of that era. It small size may make it a salesman's sample, as most of the Ohio pottery companies had traveling salesmen on the road selling their wares. Many McCoy collectors call the "ladder pieces" (they were displayed on ladders in the collectors books) were made by McCoy as samples and now are prized by collectors. One side of the vase looks soiled, but regular soap and water did not take it off. I did not try toothpaste or baking soda. Because it is on one side only, it is not visible when displayed on a shelf. Since the glaze will not absorb anything, I believe it will come off, but I am pricing as not perfect. tall x 2.25 long x 1.5" wide **Our antique items will naturally have signs of wear, age, and production imperfections.
