This Kerr Self Sealing Mason jar was made in the 1950s or 1960s, and was originally produced for canning fruit. There is Rec. U.S. Pat. Off. label on the front. On the bottom there is embossed a number 15 and 505, and the initials AHK. This type of jar is no longer in production, so it is a rare find. It has soft corners and two seams on either side. No cracks or chips. There are a couple air bubbles and a small spot of lime deposit, which can be easily removed with vinegar. There are red marks around the rim that supposedly came from the lid of jar.
