This Cache Pot was made by the Johnson Brothers Company in Burselen, England, founded in 1883. It is semi porcelain, or Ironstone with a brown transfer ware design called Minneapolis. This Cache Pot was used to hold the long hair pins and combs used to hold long hair in fussy late 18th century hair styles, on top of or behind the head. the pot is 4.5 inches tall and 4 inches wide at the center. It is in terrific condition, see photos. There is a tiny chip on the very edge of the foot, but it does not change the function at all. **Our antique items will naturally have signs of wear, age, and production imperfections.
