These adorable miniatures are "Kappas," a type of reptilian water-sprites in Japanese folklore. Their name, "Kappa," is a contraction of the Japanese words for river (kawa) and child (wappa). Kappas' caps are dishes said to contain water that bolsters their strength, and these creatures are weakened immensely if that water is lost. This gorgeous set of mythical Japanese creatures would make a unique display for a lake or beach house, or a fantastic gift for lovers of Japanese history and art. The set of Kappas is in good condition.
