Fused Murano Glass Plate Handmade Mid Century Geometric - Vintage

This plate was owned by a travel agent who traveled to Murano, Italy, in the late 70s where she purchased this piece. The iridescent base goes from a deep purple to indigo to blue to green fluidly. It gives an underwater effect to this geometric design. The geometric shapes were cut individually and layered on the plate before being fused together in a kiln. Each layer on each element had to be fused to the element below, which is an incredibly time consuming process. This rectangular plate is perfect to serve a cheese platter, a sandwich, sushi, or any lunch! This plate would also look beautiful simply as a display item for guests to gape at. It is in excellent condition.
