This lovely cup was originally made in the 1890's as a friendship gift, with it being hand-painted and likely sold at train stations or drug stores. The serving plate is a later addition, being made in 1902. There is a note attached to the bottom of the plate with "1902 - age 5 yrs." likely meaning that it was gifted to someone for their 5th birthday.
The cup measures 2.25" tall and 6" circumference. Plate measures 4.75" in diameter, with a resting place for the cup in the middle.
