This hard to find James Kent LTD Osaka pattern with flow blue, was made in Fenton, England. The design appeared on the James Kent Ltd pattern list around 1913. Other Osaka pattern versions have gold floral designs around the entire bowl, inside and out. It does not appear that there was ever gold on the outside of the bowl or in the lower half of the inside. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, the china companies often made various pattern versions to put additional pieces into the marketplace, which encouraged ladies to add to their existing sets. This would be a very pretty addition to a turn of the century collection of Flow Blue.
Measures 2.75 inches tall and 9.25 inches in diameter.
