Dugan Orange Marigold Carnival Glass Beaded Basket - Vintage

This Marigold iridescent carnival glass basket was made in 1914 by the Dugan Diamond Glass Company. The basket is a juicy orange marigold color with a bright iridescent carnival glass luster. Carnival glass was created in the early 1900s, its name originated from the fact it was given away as prizes at carnivals. It was considered the "poor mans Tiffany", and many proper ladies would not allow it in the house. This piece is in excellent condition, there are no chips, cracks, or large scratches. There is one small straw mark from its manufacture on the bottom of the piece, it can only be seen if looking at the underside of the piece. This would look lovely in a spot that gets direct sunlight, the sun hitting the iridescent luster will give off a beautiful glow.
