Crystal Glass Liquor Decanter

Decanters are specially designed to pour the contents gradually without disturbing any sediment. The decanter is in great condition, there is a small chip in the lid (see photos). This decanter is made of crystal. Also known as “lead glass". Crystal glass has been used since the Han Dynasty in China from 206 BCE to 220 CE. In crystal glass, lead is used instead of calcium. The lead provides a bright clarity to the glass. It is recommended that alcohol be served from a decanter, but not stored in the decanter, as lead can leach from the glass into the alcohol over time.
