Bronze Elephant Small Book Bookends For Small Classic Books RARE FIND - Small Books 1900 - 1915 Ronson Company

Two Bronze Elephant "small book" Bookends are a hard to find item. Each elephant is standing on a stack of small books labeled after the Classics. This set of bookends were produced by Ronson, at the turn of the 20th century. They were made to hold collections of small leather covered Classic books, which were very popular. In fact each elephanr is standing on a stack of these tiny books, each labeled with a classic title. our research indicates they were made between 1901 and 1910. Each bookend weighs about 1.5 lb. The are Bronze with embossing outlining their finer details. As with all aging Bronze, some bluish green is evident in creases. They have dark green felted bottoms to protect the wood surface of the bookshelf. 
Would make a lovely addition to a collection of bookends or displayed on its own.
