This 11" Platter is great for display or functionality. It is from Northern France in the Sarreguemines Region. This area was famous for beautiful white Ironstone decorated with Naturalistic designs. This lovely platter is embellished with an intricate gray/brown design considered "wild pastures" naturalistic an includes wild grass and a butterfly. In its original state, there was gold detailing, but much of it has worn off since. The Platter has one small chip, which is shown in the photos. It would make a very pretty shelf piece when not in use. Please look carefully at the photos...this French ironstone is HARD TO FIND.
