This company was founded in 1908 in Japan, and is well known for their authentic Eastern designed china. This soup bowl was designed with their Goldmar design, one of their earlier patterns, produced before the 1920's. This bowl is very elegant. It has a seemingly plain exterior with only two gold lines separating the painted areas and the plain porcelain center, while the top inside rim has an intricate gold design which reaches down in a textured, lacy V-shape. All the gold on the bowl is 14 K gold paint. The design is very ornate, including geometrics and botanicals. The bowl has two gold-painted handles on either side, allowing one to sip their soup from the bowl. This bowl is in very excellent condition. There are no chips or scratches in the china or in the design. This just may be the replacement piece your Meito set needs... or could serve as a lovely candy dish.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eMeasures 6.25 inches from handle to handle.
