They would be interesting added to a Circus, Brayton Laguna, or salt and pepper collection. The dog and clown shakers are finished in cold paint, typically used on pottery of the mid-1950s. The piece was first glazed in a plain finish, then paint was added over the glaze, thus, the name cold paint. The cold paint does tend to wear off in areas of heavy use. This set is in great condition, the clown has one small fleabite on the bottom ruffle, and the dog has a tiny bruise on the back of his ear, and the cold paint shows wear on the very top of the hats and a couple other small areas.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe dog is standing on its hind legs, measuring just shy of 5\" tall, and a diameter at its base of around 1.75\". There is a small chip on the dog's right ear as pictured.\u003cbr\u003eThe clown is standing up with one arm in front and the other in the back, holding a flower. He stands at 6.5\" tall, and a base diameter of 2.5\".
